Reach out and Help Our Law         Students Serve Around the Globe

by Samuel E. Ericsson, President, Advocates International

Advocates International's President Encourages the Next Generation of Advocates with His-Stories of Advocates who started "doing justice with compassion" from beginning of their legal careers.

"All the days ordained for me - including those in law school - were written in your book before one of them came to be."    Psalm 139:16

Relationships nurtured in law school have often been used by the Author of His-Story in preparing lawyers to do justice with compassion nationally, regionally and globally.  Let me share a few examples of how law schools have been the opening chapter for many lawyers in building Christ's kingdom.  (more...)

Join Advocates International as We Ask Pakistan to Protect its Persecuted Minorities Today

Advocates International Calls for the End of Vigilante Violence and Religious Persecution in Pakistan Caused by Blasphemy and other so-called "Defamation of Religion" Laws that Violate International Human Rights Norms

The basic human right to freedom of expression, association and religious free exercise is increasingly under threat as countries introduce Burned Bible Pakistanand enforce laws that have been wrongfully legitimized by numerous United Nations resolutions on "defamation of religions."  The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has lead the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) efforts within United Nations bodies to pass these resolutions, and have pointed to its own criminal Blasphemy laws set forth in Article XV of its Penal Code as an example of how to treat the defamation of religion.  This same Blasphemy law has been pointed to as a root cause of four serious and violent attacks upon the Christian community within the past three months.  (more...)

Never Forsaking the Meeting Together...

In addition, both Advocates North America and Advocates Latin America are planning their conferences for the Winter and Spring of 2010, respectively. So stay tuned for further information on these and other conferences being planned to be held around the world in 2010.

As you prepare to attend a conference this year or assist another advocate to go this year or next, consider these encouraging facts about the growth of our Advocates International (AI) movement since 1991:

23,000+ people have attended conferences or other gatherings organized, funded or co-sponsored by AI regional networks or national affiliates, including:

    • 5,800 delegates attending 40 regional and sub-regional conferences in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America and the Balkans, Middle East, and Caribbean.
    • 1,200 delegates attending five Global Convocations in the USA since 1998, joined by 2,000 Christian Legal Society/USA members and friends.
    • 3,900 justices, judges and magistrates have participating in 32 judicial conferences or seminars.
    • 7,000 lawyers, judges, clergy, students, business leaders and government officials have participating in 100+ meetings other than the global, regional or judicial conferences.

For the sake of our doing together the justice with compassion commended by our LORD (Matt 23:23, Micah 6:8), let's keep meeting together to encourage one another in the love and good works that we are being called by our love of God and neighbor to do.
