Advocates International Update
The Good and Other News From Advocates Around the World

Dear Advocate,

Let's communicate!

Welcome to the Update, our new by-monthly e-newletter. In response to your request for more frequent and vibrant communications among our advocates all over the world, we are upgrading our Advocates International web site for re-launch later this summer and are now inviting you to read your first issue of the Update.
By creating a virtual interactive environment facilitated by your participation in AI's blogs, forums, and real time news feeds, we hope to keep you up to date on what is happening in all our work throughout the world. As a part of this expansion we are asking each of you to update your profile with us by following the link at the bottom of this email labeled "Update Profile/Email Address". With your help, we at Advocates can have the most up to date information on our supporters and advocates for future communication.
We will shortly be sending you a short e-survey to enable you to communicate with us how and by what means you think we can best communicate with one another in the pursuit of our common mission. Don't forget to update your Profile. Thanks.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Grace and peace,

40 Reasons for Our Advocacy: What We Have Done Together this Year
Advocates International has been hard at work advocating around the world this year. As a network that seeks to constantly update its readers and supporters we have compiled a list of 40 accomplishments from the first half of the year. We believe these 40 tasks are in a nutshell a microcosm of the successes of Advocates over the years and those that we will continue to pursue.

The Curve of the Devil

Much of the simmering crisis in Peru has been largely ignored by the world media until the recent reported violence on June 5 between government forces and hundreds of protesting indigenous Peruvian citizens concerned about losing their lands in the Amazonas District of Peru .
Advocates International issued a strong letter of concern on June 17 to President Garcia calling him to refrain and thereby entertain peace talks between both sides of this now bloody land dispute. For a full copy of the letter in either Spanish or English and our Press Release, please go to our Press Center link on the top left of this page. For a more detailed explaination of the crisis, please follow the link.

Happy Birthday, America

As we reflect upon America's 233rd birthday party, we can give thanks that America's Supreme Court since its Newdow decision in 2004 continues to hold that the country may for the time being remain pledged to be "One nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all." On the other hand, we can only pray that the Obama administration will not carry out its proposed rulemakings to rescind federal agency protection of the health care right of conscience and federally fund the destruction of human embryos for illegal, unnecessary and unethical stem cell research.Regardless of what future legal decisions may hold, as Christians, we understand our national patriotism to be a penultimate allegiance under our ultimate allegiance to God. We are submitted to God's authority and are therefore submitted to every authority that He allows on earth. Romans 13:1-7. (more...)

Law of Life

sanctity Advocates International's Sanctity of Human Life Global Task Force is founded upon and shall defend the sanctity and juridical inviolability of the human person as a reflection of the absolute inviolability of God finding its primary and fundamental expression in the inviolability of human life. Above all, the common outcry, which is justly made on behalf of human rights - for example, the right to health, to home, to work, to family, to culture, to liberty - is false and illusory if the inviolable right to life, the most basic and fundamental right and the condition for all other personal rights, is not defended with maximum determination.
