As Advocates representing a global community, part of our obligation as Christians lies in our ability to forgive and reconcile, just as Jesus Christ has forgiven us. The Peace and Reconciliation Global Task Force seeks to do just that; as stated in our own mission statement, we will work toward “Fostering(ing) forgiveness and restoration within individuals, families, communities, and nations.” However, Advocates believes true reconciliation is the result of both parties reaching an agreement with mutual goals in mind. These types of compromises and treaties are the cornerstone of this Global Task Force’s modus operandi. We do not organize temporary fixes, or try to band-aid situations; we establish resolutions through diplomacy and law.
